History 
 
Forbush Baptist Church was organized September 3. 1876 as an arm of Cross Roads Baptist Church (now Courtney Baptist Church) with 18 Charter members. Our first pastor was Rev. Samuel S. May who preached the first sermon Septenber 22, 1876. The church also affiliated with the Yadkin Baptist Association in 1876.

Our first log church building was built in 1877-1879. It was described by historians as looking as the church in the picture above on the left. In 1890 a new framed structure was constructed as shown in the picture above in the middle. In 1965 the current church building was built as shown in the picture above on the right.

Our WMU was organized October 13, 1912.

We observed our 125th anniversary on September 22, 2001.

Above is the front of the church building constructed in 1890. The gentleman on the stairs is said to be Claude Davis.
